Voted 2006 California  High School Division II Player of the Year, and 2006 San Francisco Chronicle Player of the Year. Believed to be the only California DII Player of the Year not to receive a Division I College scholarship. Recruited to play his college ball at Harvard where no athletic scholarships are offered. Two time 1st Team All Ivy League, curiously never named Ivy League POY. Undrafted in the 2010 NBA draft, then offered a summer contract with the Dallas Mavericks. Signed a two year contract with his hometown Golden State Warriors on July 21, 2019.
